Beautiful, but very different from the original

From the photos of the gray version, the stool looks identical to the original, and it is not apparent that the footrest is a detached element from the rest of the stool.
When it arrived I found out. I tried to ask if there are caps to cover the holes to mitigate the aesthetic effect, but there are not. The stool is not bad, but unfortunately putting it next to two original stools the difference is so noticeable, the footrest is so different and the 4 holes are really unsightly.
